If you are an experienced UAV pilot and aged sixteen or over you can apply to become a Raptor Drone Pilots Instructor.
As a Raptor Instructor, you can teach the Raptor Drone Pilot course to new UAV users, and you can also choose to teach specialist courses such as Aerial Photography or FPV Racer if you wish.
To become a Raptor Instructor you must do the following:
- Take and pass the online Drone Pilot course (this usually takes less than an hour).
- Take and pass the online Instructor course.
- Demonstrate that you can control a UAV. This can be proving participation in a drone racing event, by showing some form of certification, or by demonstrating to a Raptor Instructor Trainer. This can be in person or may sometimes be conducted remotely using technology such as Skype or FaceTime video calling.
- You will also take part in a short instructor course with a Raptor Instructor Trainer. This takes a couple of hours and can be conducted remotely over the internet.
Once you have become an instructor you can start teaching Raptor courses and issuing Raptor Drone Pilots certifications. You can continue to do so as long as you keep up to date with UAV technologies and retain your membership with Raptor Drone Pilots.
If you are a competent UAV pilot this process is very straightforward. By this time next week you could be a Raptor Instructor!
