The UK’s first drone arena has opened in Nottingham – and punters came from far and wide to try out the exciting new sport.

UKDS Racing opened on Iremonger Road, near Meadow Lane, at 10am after hours of painstaking work by managing director Sam Shaw and his team.

The circuit will be used for FPV (First Person View) drones. They have a camera attached and the images are sent back to goggles which are worn by the pilot, so they can get a front-row seat for the action.

The neon-lit blue and green race track may be for those with some experience, but first-time flyers also have plenty of space to hone their skills.
